The best John Lewis Black Friday deals
Apple MacBook Air (2020) 13.3in Retina Display, Intel Core i3 (256 GB SSD): Was £999, now £879
This Mac 2020 book Air claims to have a new and improved keyboard, like the one available with the 16in model. It comes in space grey, silver and gold and has been designed for quiet, responsive typing and has backlit keys for typing in low-lit settings. You can expect up to 12 hours of battery life on a single charge and the Intel Core i3 processor will let you do day-to-day tasks with no lag. The Macbook Air (Intel Core i5 model) made into our 2020 guide of best laptops for working from home, with our reviewer noting: “This is one of the slickest laptops around. It also has extremely good battery life, despite its slim profile.”
Theragun Mini 4th Generation Percussive Therapy Massager, Black: Was £175, now £150
Whether you are looking to treat an achy back while WFH or are an avid runner in need of some muscle relief, this bestselling massager from Theragun should do the trick. The mini version of the popular handheld device still packs a punch, with technology that makes the motor quieter than your standard electric toothbrush.
The larger Theragun liv device landed a spot in our review of the best at-home massage tools. Our tester said: “This handheld percussive massage device is unbelievably good at treating knots and tight shoulders. If you like your massages high pressure, you’ll love this: when you glide it onto a particularly gnarly knot, the feeling is almost religious.”
Bose Home Speaker 500 Smart Speaker with voice recognition and control: Was £329, now £279
When it comes to home sound devices, Bose is a seriously heavyweight name, and this super-stylish offering (which comes in either black or silver) will give your home wall-to-wall stereo sound with a single speaker. Use your voice assistant to ask for any tune you like: Google Assistant and Alexa are built-in so millions of songs are there if you just ask (and even when the volume’s cranked up, it will still hear your requests). We reviewed the Bose portable home speaker which we noted has a “strong audio quality” – no doubt you’ll get something pretty similar with this one, too.
Bosch Serie 4 WAN28281GB freestanding washing machine: Was £449, now £349
Save £100 on this 8kg load Bosch washing machine, which comes with a two-year guarantee. The Bosch Serie 4 WAN28050GB (7kg) took the top spot in our guide to the best washing machines.
Our reviewer praising it for giving “you everything you could ever really need from a washing machine. It is exceptionally quiet, almost soothingly so, and it has a good selection of cycles, including dark wash, mixed load, and a super quick setting which gets your washing done in as little as 15 minutes.”
Joules fieldcoat jacket, pink tweed, was £249, now £149
Save a cool £100 on this Joules tweed coat available (at the time of publishing) in every size from eight to 18. It features brass trim and a stand-up collar, and has a twist on the usual tweed with a dash of blush pink thrown in. The 60 per cent wool component should mean it’s warm, perfect as the winter weather sets in. Do remember to dry clean only, though.
Clarins hand and nail treatment cream, 100ml: Was £23, now £18.40
If you’ve been getting dry hands from all that washing – especially in winter – this should do the trick to get them soft and supple again. When we tested it alongside nine of the best hand creams, our reviewer found that “Clarins’ offering is notably one of the richest and most nourishing creams… it also absorbs almost instantly and leaves no greasy residue,” awarding it our Best Buy. The moisturising base of sesame oil and shea butter is boosted by Japanese mulberry extract to work on minimising age spots, while myrrh extract is used to strengthen the nails.
There’s 20 per cent off across the Clarins range at John Lewis and Partners so check out their other deals while you’re there.
Le Creuset Cast Iron 20cm Casserole and 29cm Stoneware Dish Set, 2 Piece, Volcanic: Was £235, now £141
Save an impressive 40 per cent and snap up two of Le Creuset’s most popular products. In the brand’s signature volcanic colour, the set contains a 20cm cast iron round casserole dish and a stoneware 29cm deep rectangular dish, so you can switch easily from slow-cooking stews to baking bread.
We featured a similar Le Creuset shallow dish in our round-up of the best casserole dishes, noting that “it’s a brand you can rely on, with dishes often becoming family heirlooms… we found this one to be the best for our requirements, particularly given its versatility; on top of cooking risottos and casseroles, the dish is adept at browning meat thanks to its shallow depth.” Versatile, lightweight and durable, invest in these kitchen staples while nearly £100 is knocked off the price.
Loaf floppy jo sofa bed: Was £2,149, now £1,179.20
With 20 per cent off Loaf for John Lewis, now’s the perfect time to update your living room furniture. Loaf is a failsafe brand for sofas, and a different design from the same brand took the top spot in our review of the best sofa beds. Our tester praised it for its “big, bouncy cushions, its easy folding mechanism and its substantial mattress”, so we’re expecting big things from this one too. With a huge array of colours to choose from, you can pick something that’ll suit your space – we particularly love the Tuscan pink.
Sophie Conran Portmeirion dinnerware set, white 12 piece: Was £144, now £100.80

Maxi-Cosi Mica 360 i-Size car seat: Was £299, now £239.20

Apple iPad Pro 11″ 2020, A12Z Bionic, iOS, Wi-Fi, 128GB, Space Grey: Was £769, now £739
Apple products don’t come cheap and the brand is notorious for not participating in many sales, so although this isn’t a huge saving, it’s a worthy inclusion for the latest 2020 Pro model. Our technology critic, David Phelan, explained in his review the difference between the 2020 iPad Pro and the previous version: “The biggest changes are the new LiDAR scanner and the improved cameras which are designed to turn the iPad Pro into a portable movie studio, say, rather than a better way to take photographs.” With a two-year guarantee, you can also claim up to £150 when trading in an old iPad with John Lewis.

Samsung Galaxy Ion, Intel Core i5, 8GB, 512GB SSD, 13″, Silver: Was £1,249, now £1,049
This Samsung laptop has a 13-inch screen and 8GB of RAM. It’s slimline too and has a quick-charging and long-lasting battery (21.5 hours). While we haven’t reviewed this specific model, we did review the Samsung Galaxy Book in our best two-in-one laptops guide and found it to be particularly good for movie playback as “the display is excellent” – so hopefully you’ll get similar quality here too. They also noted that “Jamie Oliver has long used the word Magimix synonymously with the term food processor”. It really doesn’t get much better than that. (Three year guarantee included.)

A bottle of fragrance makes for a great Christmas gift, so tick this off your list while there’s 15 per cent to save. Not only is the fit adjustable and more secure with the ear hooks, these are also sweat and water resistant so you can exercise to your hearts content with a podcast or playlist on full blast.
They won a spot in our review of the best running headphones, where our tester said: “You could hang upside down in aerial yoga with these on and they wouldn’t even budge. They’re comfortable enough to wear all day long – and with a nine-hour battery life, you could definitely do that.” With no wires to get in the way of your workout, they seem like a winner. They are available in a range of unusual colours too, from spring yellow to moss green.

In our review of the setting spray, our tester said: “I tested this spray over three days with three levels of activity – one day was spent at home and running errands, another was with a day of mask-wearing and public transport, and one was for an evening where I was cooking in a hot kitchen. Unsurprisingly, my make-up didn’t smudge in my lower-activity days, but it also held up exceptionally well under my mask and while cooking.”
